MyGlucoHealth Test Strips

MyGlucoHealth test strips are used with the MyGlucoHealth Wireless meter system for the quantitative measurement of blood glucose levels in whole blood. MyGlucoHealth Wireless meters are plasma calibrated to allow easy comparison of results with laboratory methods.

MyGlucoHealth test strips employ a new biosensor technology composed of electrochemical components that requires only an extremely small volume of blood to achieve an accurate measurement. A minimal sample volume of 0.3 µl is required and if the patient is unable to supply that amount immediately, they have up to one minute to add additional blood to the test strip. This prevents the waste of test strips.

Testing Principle

Glucose in the blood sample reacts with enzymes on the test strip to stimulate a chemical reaction, which generates an electrical current. This reaction is measured by the MyGlucoHealth Wireless meter and displayed as the blood glucose level result. Different levels of reactions will occur depending on the amount of glucose present in the blood sample.

MyGlucoHealth test strips will provide accurate results when the following constraints are observed:

  • Only use MyGlucoHealth test strips with a MyGlucoHealth Wireless meter.
  • Use fresh capillary whole blood only. Do not use plasma or serum.
  • Do not use neonate samples.
  • Test strips are for single use only. Never attempt to reuse.
  • Dehydration may lower test results. If the patient is severely dehydrated, contact a physician immediately.
  • Inaccurate results may occur when in shock, hypotensive individuals, hyperglycemic or hyperosmolar state, with or without ketosis.
  • MyGlucoHealth test strips may be used at altitudes up to 10,000 feet above sea level without effecting test results.
  • MyGlucoHealth test strips are for testing outside of the body only (in vitro diagnostic use).
